Alissa the Poet

Hey All,

When I started this blog I wasn’t entirely sure what the end game was. All I knew is that I was traveling places I’d never been before and wanted to share my outlook. I wrote a lot when I was in High School. So, by starting this blog, I wanted to get back into that routine and shake off the cobwebs. Now I feel like I am getting back to my roots.

Hey Look! It’s the new addition to our family on wheels! Meet Jo! She’s a purebred Cocker Spaniel, 90% sweetheart, 10% murderous demon-spawn. We love having her on our journey!

Therefore, I have decided to make some changes in my output. I am transitioning my Instagram account (the wanderinglily3) into a poetry account(afk_poetry). Poetry is my first love and I never got over it. In the third grade, we had a writing segment in my English class. The section was dedicated to tall tales and poetry. Two things that opened my soul. I thought it was fun to rhyme the words and talk about things I wasn’t brave enough to otherwise. The first poem was about my distaste for broccoli and how my mom making me eat it was mean. I didn’t care about the controversy, I submitted it and received positive feedback. As the middle child, anything that got someone’s attention was something I gravitated towards. (Good thing, I grew out of that!)

Eric and I played arcade games at a bar with friends in Rapid City, SD for my birthday!

My mom has made a heart cake for me since I was eight years old. It’s always been our thing. Dairy-free, just for me! ❤

The blog will stay the same, I’m going to continue to share my experiences in our travel. Whether that be about full-time RV-ing, the food or the places we visit.

The Wednesday blog posts will focus on locations I visit. Let’s call it #wanderinglilywednesday (has a nice ring to it!). I’d like to publish a Sunday blog post as well that will involve more personal stories and lifestyle posts. I am excited to share more of my life with whomever is still wandering with me!

I want to thank everyone who reads my blog posts. (Hey, Mom!) I know I’ve been inconsistent. I’ve been trying out different things that work better with what I want to put out there. So, here’s to changes! I don’t know where they’ll lead, but I won’t know if I don’t try. 🙂

Have you ever made any changes that you were apprehensive about? What made you do it anyway? How did things turn out? Comment below in the comments! Paint me a word picture!

I’m grateful for this man. He makes every day special. Thank you for an amazing birthday, Eric. Love you lots. ❤ ❤ ❤
Keep Wandering, ❤ afk
